THE BARROW DOWNS came into existence in the end second decennium.

TBD is a combination of raw and atmospheric Black Metal, alternated by transitional Ambient and Dungeon Synth parts, as well as full Dungeon Synth songs.

'Gondvaan'', the bands first demo, lurks in the historical darkness of the Lisse area. The area suffered from fire and water. Towns were burned and the sea took land away. Five tracks of raw atmospheric black metal and long eerie passages of dark ambient and dungeon synth music.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity. While Ofte jeg drømmer mig død will most likely always be my favourite Afsky album (being one ov my favourite albums in general), Om hundrede år ticks all the boxes I hoped it would: the calm and simultaneously depressing folk elements are there; the wailing screams of a forlorn spirit, forced to eternally wander the woods (apt comparison, deadpunk!); the harsh, bitterly cold guitar riffs and the ultimate realisation of life, death and our inevitable undoing. Exactly what I want. Recommended! David Fischer
